Settings or sign-in missing after updating to 0.3.4

Section titled “Settings or sign-in missing after updating to 0.3.4”

The ArcheAge Origins rebrand starts a fresh launcher profile. Sign in again, select your existing client folder, and set any custom launcher preferences again. On Linux, select a Steam-installed Proton; the launcher prepares a new managed prefix. Your existing game files can be reused, and the first client check hashes them again. Previous launcher data remains on disk.

The Windows binary has no OS code signature. On first run, open SmartScreen’s dialog, choose More info, then Run anyway.

Linux: missing libraries / launcher never opens

Section titled “Linux: missing libraries / launcher never opens”

The Linux binary needs webkit2gtk-4.1 / gtk3 and X11 libraries. If one is missing, the process exits before any UI and the dynamic loader prints the missing library name. Install the matching packages from your distribution.

Linux: NVIDIA Wayland crash / blank webview

Section titled “Linux: NVIDIA Wayland crash / blank webview”

WebKit accelerated compositing is disabled by default for this reason. Only override if you need it:

Terminal window
WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=0 ./aaemu-launcher

Install or repair Steamworks Common Redistributables in Steam. That package supplies the DirectX June 2010 CABs the launcher expects for shader compatibility.

Also confirm Steam has Proton Experimental or Proton Hotfix and Steam Linux Runtime. Standalone Wine/Proton outside Steam is rejected.

Retained login needs an active Secret Service (org.freedesktop.secrets): GNOME Keyring, KWallet’s ksecretd, or KeePassXC. If the provider is absent, locked, or unavailable, credential retention fails closed (you may see Maintenance instead of a saved session).

For an existing username, a wrong password fails with a generic error and does not retain credentials. With AutoAccount, the first successful login for a new username creates the account; later logins must use that password. See Getting started.

When Login API or manifest checks fail, the launcher shows Maintenance and disables Play and Update. For short outages it reconnects automatically (status poll about every 15 seconds). Wait for recovery, or check that launcher.hyprlane.dev is reachable.

Protocol, trust, credential-store, and local-client failures do not use background polling the same way—fix the underlying issue (credentials, client path, network trust).

A second instance exits with an already-running message. Use the first window, or close it before starting again.

Use Select game folder and choose the client root that contains bin32/archeage.exe. Cancelling leaves the previous selection unchanged. Unsupported layouts stay fail-closed until you pick a valid root.

Need the client archive? Use the in-launcher supported-r208022 download link (MEGA in your OS browser). See Getting started.

Long archive work can take a while. Prefer watching the whole-operation progress (0–100). Verify all files forces a full archive hash and can take longer on large installs.

The first updater-capable baseline (v0.3.0) must be installed manually. Later builds can Update and restart after a signed check. Manifest signature trust is not the same as an OS code signature (Using the launcher).

When you email support, include your operating system, launcher version, what you were doing, and the error text or a screenshot. Don’t include passwords or sign-in tokens.
